Step 1:
The Goal
The Chicago Blackhawks is the beloved hockey team of the city. The Blackhawks love connecting with Chicago's youth through “Little Blackhawks” hockey lessons and youth hockey. The team came to us to help them achieve their goal of centering youth voices in the community and creating impactful storytelling to expand to communities all around Chicago.


Step 2:
finding the gaps
Out of our Strategy + Creative services, we provided Authenticity Audit, Creative Direction, and Film + Photo Production for The Chicago Blackhawks to connect to them to what the community wants. Through these services, we produced a story about the impact of a new kids' floor hockey program—and how it meaningfully shapes the lives of young people and their families.

Step 3:
The KNDRD artists participated in ongoing development throughout the program—including regular meetings with their mentors, connection points with the Blackhawks, and educational empowerment sessions—all while creatively shaping and sharing this powerful community narrative.
The impact

Step 4:
This program was designed to empower the community to tell its own story—fueled by the Chicago Blackhawks. KNDRD curated and directed a 10-month youth creatives cohort to produce original content, culminating in a storytelling short film that elevated the youth voice and deepened community trust.
